EVENT: Spirirual Warrior Adventure to Playa del Carmen on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula

kendall-head200x2001

JOIN ME: November 2 – 6, 2011

In 2010, I summoned the courage within to take my 12 year old son out of school in Dallas and move to the quaint, tropical Mexican village of Playa del Carmen. Against the advice of many who know and love us, I decided for once to follow the prompting of a place within each of us that seeks for something different, powerful, and deeply fulfilling. I call it your Spiritual Warrior. I invite you to join me and 15 other like-minded folks for a four day journey to the most beautiful town in tropical Mexico to stoke the fire of your Spiritual Warrior, to reclaim that part of you who dreams big, overcomes adversity, and dare I say, doesn’t shy away from a party in the tropics!

Entice that fiercely beautiful part of your soul to arise with a gourmet tour of Mexican cuisine. We’ll dine at my favorite local spots and enjoy dishes like Los Agua Chilis and Chili Ancho Relleno de Pistache con salsa de Pina. We will take a day trip and experience the Sian Ka’an Biosphere which for sure is one of the few wonders of the world where the vortex of energy and vibration is powerful enough to leave you transformed. The daily yoga will set the table with themes and a tempo to calm your worries and fears and let your most powerful self rise to the top! You’ll finish this retreat having reclaimed the courage and passion you always knew to be part of you!

Join me November 2 – 6, 2011, for a Yoga Retreat to Paradise.

ad-daveplaya20101

JOIN US: November 3 – 7, 2010

For the past five years, Kendall and David have created delicious and fun events in Dallas featuring chocolate, wine, music, and of course, yoga. But afterward, you had to roll up your mat and get back to the routines of life. Imagine if you could finish one of David or Kendall’s fun, flowing, rock n reggae driven yoga classes only to leave your mat behind and wander into the azure blue Caribbean Sea before an afternoon cooking class with a local chef on how to make the perfect margarita and handmade guacamole to die for! If you are already salivating at the idea of “Stretch ‘n’ Sip,” it’s a sign from Above that your time has come for a YOGA ADVENTURE! This will be a journey not soon to be forgotten! For the yogi who loves food, or the foodie who’s never done yoga, or the person who just wants to break away and feel as young and vital as a college kid on Spring Break all over again.

Ghee: the better way to eat butter!

MY favorite a Dosa in So. India with Ghee~

MY favorite a Dosa in So. India with Ghee~

Here’s how to make your own at home

Step one: Place butter in a pot (4 lbs. of butter will make a good supply of ghee) and heat on medium heat.

Step two: Milk solids will start to rise to the top and should be skimmed off. Some will solidify on the bottom of the pot. This is OK too. Do not allow the solids on the bottom of the pot to burn. If they start to turn golden brown, turn off the heat.

Step three: when all of the milk solids have been either skimmed off or settled to the bottom, pour pour the ghee into another pot. Be careful to leave out the milk solids form the bottom of the original pot. Use a fine strainer if you wish to be extra careful.

Step four: When ghee has cooled, pour into storage containers. I recommend glass jars.

Notes: Ghee does not require refrigeration and will not go bad. If it does produce mold, then it was not cooked long enough. It may solidify, or it may stay liquid, depending on the environment.
